Over 25 city-wide organizations from Cure Violence Global and the NYC Crisis Management System will mobilize at the exact location of the mass shooting of 8 people, in the Eleanor Roosevelt Houses in Bedford Stuyvesant, Brooklyn.  The shooting response will be led by Man Up! Inc. USA; Both Sides of the Violence; and Not Another Child Inc.
Man Up! Inc. has been working intently with the residents of NYCHA’s Roosevelt Houses and surrounding community members for close to 2 years, to reduce gun violence.  Prior to this tragic mass-shooting, there has not been a fatal shooting in the 81st precinct area in over 230 days, and to date, a gun-related homicide in over 600 days.  The data reflects the effectiveness of the Collective Work that will continue in the 81st precinct.
Today, Cure Violence Global and CMS organizations will be standing in unity to denounce the disease of gun violence.  We will be marching peacefully from Roosevelt Houses to Marcy Houses; another fatal crime scene that claimed the lives of 2 victims.
