· As of 1:00 PM on Thursday, August 19th, there have been 827,536 confirmed COVID-19 cases in New York City, with 293,408 confirmed cases in Brooklyn. There have been 28,544 confirmed deaths citywide and 5,140 probable deaths. There have been 8,731 confirmed deaths and 1,825 probable deaths in Brooklyn.
VACCINATION INFORMATION
· The “Key to NYC” vaccination requirement began on Tuesday, August 17th and applies to indoor dining, entertainment and fitness facilities. Enforcement will begin, with a multi-agency coalition, on September 13th.
· The NYC Vaccine Referral Bonus program incentivizes community- and faith-based organizations to encourage members of their neighborhoods to get vaccinated by awarding $100 for each person they refer who gets their first vaccine at a City-run site. When a person makes an appointment ahead of time or walks up, they can select the organization that referred them to get vaccinated. Once the person receives their first dose, the referral organization will be credited $100, up to a total of $20,000.Interested organizations can sign-up through nyc.gov/vaccinereferralbonus.
· New York City offers in-home COVID-19 vaccinations to any resident who requests one. You also have the option to request their vaccine brand preference (Pfizer, Moderna, or Johnson & Johnson). Anyone age 16+ can walk into a City-run vaccination site and get vaccinated.
· Starting on Friday, July 30th, New York City will pay $100 to anyone who goes to a city-run vaccination site for their first vaccination dose.
· Anyone 12+ years of age is eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.
· Currently, all City mass vaccination sites and State-run vaccination sites are open for walk-ins for New Yorkers aged 12 and older. Children aged 12-15 require consent from a parent or guardian.
· Eligible New Yorkers can also sign up at nyc.gov/vax4nyc.

· Viral mutations and variants have been circulating through New York, the United States, and around the world; this includes the Delta variant, which is circulating in New York City and is known to be more contagious than the primary stain of the coronavirus; to learn more about virus variants, click here.
· Amid a surge in COVID-19 cases in the city, driven by the explosion of the delta variant, New Yorkers are being urged to seriously consider adopting the CDC’s new guidelines on indoor masking for vaccinated people.
· COVID-19 testing has been made available to all New Yorkers. COVID-19 testing sites are available in your area with new ones being added on an ongoing basis. To find the one nearest you, visit the state website [New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) website], the City’s website [New York City’s COVID-19 Information Portal], or type “COVID testing near me” in Google Maps.
