NYC Playgrounds Closed

April 2, 2020

Greetings Community Members,

Please see the message below from Brooklyn Parks Commissioner Maher regarding all Parks/playgrounds:

“Effective 7pm (April 1st 2020) NYC Parks will be closing all its playgrounds.

That includes all features within a stand -alone playground: courts, AND comfort stations etc

Playgrounds within parks are also to be closed BUT NOT THE ENTIRE PARK

Where we can we will lock gates and post signs.

Some playgrounds are of a more “open” design. We will post signs and do what we can to close it with temporary fence or barricades.

Our efforts are beginning this evening and will continue through 10 pm and continue tomorrow
morning with the goal of having hem all closed by end of day tomorrow.

In partnership with NYPD, we will monitor sites for compliance.”
